How much does each session cost?
Currently £14.00 per session (2.5 hours). Fees are subject to an annual review with any changes coming into affect in the January term.
How are fees paid?
Each half term you will be handed an invoice stipulating the amount due for that half term’s sessions. Fees are payable within 14 days of receipt of the invoice. Fees can be paid by bank transfer, cheque, nursery vouchers or cash.
What if I want to take my child out of Playgroup and I have already paid my fees?
If you choose to leave the Playgroup mid-term, you will be required to pay fees for the remainder of that half-term, unless the place is taken up by another child.
Are Government funded places available?
Playgroup is registered with Surrey County Council’s Early Years places for all eligible children. When your child joins the Playgroup you will be asked to provide a copy of their birth certificate, and in the term in which your child becomes eligible a claim for funding will be made by Playgroup. Your child becomes eligible for funding in the term after the term in which they turn 3. e.g. if your child’s birthday is in October they would be funded from the following January.
Do I have to pay when my child is ill or on holiday?
Yes, as the hall rent and staff wages still have to be paid.
What time are the sessions?
Morning sessions are 9.15am – 11.45am Monday – Thursday
Afternoon sessions are 12.15pm – 2.45pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Do the children ever go out of Playgroup?
We have outside space for the children to play and go out most days. The children enjoy taking their learning outside, so therefore it is advisable to send your child to Playgroup with appropriate outdoor clothing depending on the season. We sometimes will go for a walk to the park and or take a small group to the shops.
Does my child need to be toilet trained?/Will my child be taken to the toilet?
Your Child does not need to be toilet trained to join the Playgroup. Staff have access to nappy changing facilities, but you will need to provide nappies and wipes in a named bag. If your child is toilet trained, a member of staff will always take a child to the toilet if they need help. Once they are settled-in they are usually happy to go by themselves, so you will need to make sure they are dressed in clothes that are easy to manage. We do keep a small supply of clothes in case of an accident but you might like to provide a set in your child’s bag.
Can my child bring a favourite toy?
We understand that when a child starts at Playgroup it sometimes helps them settle in if they can bring a toy from home. All we would request is that, if your child asks to bring a toy, it is kept to one small toy and it is placed in the special box we call the Keeping Box on arrival to prevent any confusion with Playgroup toys.
How much fundraising goes on?
As a charity we have to raise money to help in the running of the Playgroup. This is usually for toys and equipment and other things not covered by the fees. Our biggest fund raising event is the Christmas Fair, where we have a range of stalls and activities for the children. Smaller fundraising activities take place throughout the year and we always welcome ideas from parents.
Do you have an outside play area?
Yes, we try to take our learning to the outside environment in every session, weather permitting.
